VERSACE

Versace designs and classic but in a modern way they are very elegant and when you buy Versace you don't just buy a dress or a suit you are buying into a life style. Versace dresses are usually silky and just seem to flow and make the women in them look beautiful. the mens suit are simple but are so impeccably tailored that they just become beautiful.

Gianni Versace opened Versace in 1978 in Milan. But on July 15 1997 Gianni Versace was shot on the steps of his Miami beach home by Andrew Cunanan. After Gianni's death Versace was taken over by his sister Donatella (who had been the vice president). and Gianni's brother is now the CEO and whilst Donatella is the creative director its her daughter Allegra Versace who has the last say on all sales because she inherited 50% of the company when her uncle died.

GUCCI

I LOVE GUCCI. i love all there shoes. bags and accessories. i love there monogrammed fabric in all the different colors. and ofcourse i love there clothes. Gucci's designs are alot more particle and normal looking than the likes of Vivienne Westwood or John Galiano. but no matter how simple there designs, they are they are still beautiful. there latest women's collections have a number of silky tops and nice little out fits. and for the men there are plenty of white suits and interesting jackets.

GUCCI. Considered to be one of the worlds most recognisable and famous brands was founded by Guccio Gucci in Florence in 1921. In 1938 Gucci expanded and a boutique was opened in Rome. after the death of Guccio in 1953 his son Aldo took over the company and helped it to open its first boutique in New York. The Gucci family didn't always get along and often board meetings ended with flying luggage and handbags. but never the less Gucci still managed to go global opening stores in the far east and parts of China at the same time all this was happening the brand developed its iconic GG pattern. and that is how we got the Gucci that we know and love today.

PRADA

Prada's design can only be described as unique. there fairy collection from last year is just plain weird, it consisted manly of very colorful outfits and strange socks and the bags from the collection were made from a fairy fabric where each bag had a little garden scene with fairy's in it and the shoes had amazing and colorful ceramic heels in the shape of flowers and such. it was a very beautiful collection and one of my favorites.
pictures from Prada's fairy collection

Pradas latest collection is a bit more down to earth than the fairy collection. it has alot of crumpled silky dresses in both plane colors and some are very colorful. the bags are a much more simple design than the ones from the fairy collection. the clothes and such from this collection are both elegant and beautiful.

Prada was founded by Mario Prada in 1913 in Milan Italy. he made leather goods, he also imported English trunks and handbags. after the death of Mario the business was taken over by his daughter and she was joined by her daughter, Miuccia, who started to make water proof backpacks for the company. later on Patrizio Bertell joined the company (an Italian who had his own leather goods company) he help Miuccia make decisions such as to stop importing English goods and to begin to re-design old fashiond luggage styles. and from there Prada went on to become one of the most famous brand names in the world.

VIVIENNE WESTWOOD

Vivienne Westwood: Fashion designer

Vivienne Westwood is by far my favorite fashion designer. her designs are beautiful, original and they can be just a bit strange.
her latest women's collection has everything from bright coloured dress, skirts and shorts to dark
dresses, strappy shoes and angular coats. Vivienne's MAN collection has loads of T-shirts with different prints on the front, strange but beautiful work shirts and very well designed low crotch pants.

Vivienne Westwood, born
Vivienne Isabel Swire on the 8 April 1941 in the village of Tintwistle, Cheshire began her career when she opened her her "let it rock" store on kings road, London in the early 70's. she used this store as a show case for her ideas. she sold rock 'n' roll records and rock memorabilia also. Over the years the shops name changed several times and ended up being called "World's end" which it is still called today. Vivienne now has stores all around the world and several different collections under her brand name. Vivienne is now 68 years old and her designs are just as out there and controversial as when she started designing.
