Versace designs and classic but in a modern way they are very elegant and when you buy Versace you don't just buy a dress or a suit you are buying into a life style. Gianni Versace opened Versace in 1978 in Milan. But on July 15 1997 Gianni Versace was shot on the steps of his Miami beach home by Andrew Cunanan. After Gianni's death Versace was taken over by his sister Donatella (who had been the vice president). and Gianni's brother is now the CEO and whilst Donatella is the creative director its her daughter Allegra Versace who has the last say on all sales because she inherited 50% of the company when her uncle died.
